Hariprasad met Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at the Parliament House office and discussed the political developments in Karnataka, including the just concluded Congress convention in Hassan.

Sources said Hariprasad urged Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to instruct the state government to make the contents of the caste census report public.

The sources also said Hariprasad informed the leaders that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's government had spent Rs 160 crore and prepared the caste census report in 2018.

The previous BJP government did not release the report. However, almost one-and-a-half years have passed since the Congress government came to power in the state, but the report has still not been made public, they added.

Not revealing the contents of the report would send a wrong signal to socially and economically backward communities, Hariprasad told the top leaders according to the sources.
