Hassan: The decade-long dream of the people of Hassan has turned into a reality, with the City Municipal Council being upgraded into Hassan City Corporation (HCC). An official notification in this regard has been issued by the Urban Development Department on April 29, attested by the Governor.
Now, along with 35 wards, several villages will be included to HCC. Yediyuru, Sathyamangala, Dodda Mandiganahalli, Haralahalli, Bhuvanahalli, Dodda Honnenahalli, Tamlapura, Chikkakondugula, Mavinahalli, Devarayapatna, Bittagodanahalli, Sankalapura, Sagathavalli and other villages will be included to the HCC. In all, 86.01 sq km of area will be under the corporation limits.
After being upgraded into corporation, Hassan will receive funds for additional projects. Infrastructure development will be launched and there will be improvement in people's life. The development of the city will progress, experts said.
It may be mentioned that the government had announced that Hassan will be upgraded into a corporation, a few months ago. The government, which analysed the objections and suggestions, has finally issued a notification upgrading Hassan into a corporation.
