Heavy to moderate rain lashed some parts of the state on Saturday. Heavy rain accompanied by hailstorm lashed parts of Shivamogga district, bringing respite to people from the heat wave.
The district received rain for about 30 minutes from 4.30 pm. Ripponpet in Hosanagar taluk, some parts of Bhadravathi and Thirthahalli received moderate rain.
Bankapur town in Shiggaon taluk and surrounding villages in Haveri district received moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning on Saturday. Cloudy weather prevailed in Tadas, Attigeri, Hulagur, Andalagi and other villages.
The roofs of a few houses and shops in Bankapur town were blown away due to heavy winds. It drizzled in Savanur and surrounding villages on Saturday afternoon.
