HC rejects IA by disqualified JDS corporators
When the IA came up before Single Judge Justice Ravi Mallimath, he dismissed the application. The corporators had been disqualified by the Regional Commissioner, Mysore on the basis of a complaint filed by two nominated corporators of BJP, S Murali and D Umesh who alleged that the seven corporators who were elected from the JDS, had subsequently left JDS and joined the BJP.
The corporators susbequently filed a petition challenging the Regional Commissioner's order which was then stayed by the High Court on April 12.
