Medical education and district in-charge minister S A Ramdas said within the forthcoming Dasara, H D Kote taluk would be developed into a place of tourist interest.

Speaking to press persons after offering ‘bagina’ to river Kapila at Kabini reservoir, he said, Rs 2 crore had been released by the state government to develop the open space at Kabini on the lines of Brindavan Garden at KRS.

“The failure to submit a project report has hindered development. Soon the project would be taken up,” he added.

He said, Tourism, Heritage, Exhibition, Nadahabba (THEN) authority has already been formed, which would also look into the issue. The authority would concentrate on the progress of the project.

“THEN would pay attention to other development works at H D Kote taluk to make it a tourist attraction.Officials would identify places of tourist interest in the taluk and conduct a survey along with THEN, he added.

Speaking on the issue of obstructing farmers from offering ‘bagina’ at Kabini reservoir a few days ago, he said, farmers have more rights than anyone, but it is necessary to take permission prior to entering the reservoir.
