Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday lashed out at BJP president Amit Shah for ‘Congress party clerk’ remark, saying that he is a clerk striving for the welfare of the 6.5 crore people of Karnataka.

Speaking to media persons at Birur in Channarayapatna taluk, “The comments made by the BJP president shows his culture. Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks against corruption. But, his party state president offers crores of rupees as a bribe to MLAs to join the BJP. Where did they get so much money? If Amit Shah speaks about this, I would appreciate it.”

Reacting to a question on the attacks by JD(S) workers on the house of Hassan MLA Preetham J Gowda of the BJP, Kumaraswamy said, he was not politically bankrupt to further his cause with physical attacks. “Using the attacks as a shield, the political opponents are trying to defame us through the media. Is he (Preetham) Bramha (god of creation) to remove the wicket (indicating at death) of former prime minister H D Deve Gowda,” he asked.
