Bengaluru: Dubbing BJP state president B Y Vijayendra as an “arrogant and vengeful” leader in the state, Chikkaballapur BJP MP Dr K Sudhakar on Wednesday demanded the party’s high command either to convince Vijayendra to change his style of the functioning or replace him with a leader, who can get along well with all leaders in the state.
With this demand, Sudhakar became the latest growing voice of disgruntled leaders in the state, who are lobbying hard to replace Vijayendra as the state unit president.
Dr Sudhakar alleged that Vijayendra was trying to finish him off politically by rigging the party’s entire electoral system in the state, just to remain as the state president. “He has cleared the appointment of a leader who is a “realtor” for Chikkaballapur district and the same person who worked against me in the Lok Sabha election,” he alleged.
Lashing out at Vijayendra, Dr Sudhakar said that he knows to protect his business interests rather than the party’s interests. “If the same trend continues, I challenge Vijayendra to win single seat in Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Bengaluru Rural districts, by joining hands with such leaders. I know what is my strength and all these days I waited patiently for Vijayendra would change. But he has left with no option but to wage war against him to stay afloat politically in my district,” he charged.
Postponed appointments
Dr Sudhakar claimed that he had sought appointments with him so many times but Vijayendra kept on postponing and never chose to speak with him on party matters, despite his team and supporters, including MLA (S R Vishwanath), trying to finish him off politically during the Lok Sabha polls, but could not succeed in their designs.
“I have completed five years in the BJP and know many things about Vijayendra and victims of his stubbornness, vengefulness and arrogance,” he slammed.
He noted that after he was appointed the district president, he felt that Vijayendra was making every attempt to bury him politically in Chikkaballapur and he could not witness his end without fighting it out. Therefore, waging a war against Vijayendra had become inevitable for him.
‘Will meet central leaders’
Almost dropping hints at leaving BJP, he further said that he would seek appointments with party central leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda to explain to them in detail what was happening in the state.
“I will start consulting about my political future with my supporters in the district once I meet my party central leaders during the forthcoming Parliament session,” he said.
He also added that several MPs feel the same and some of the leaders are even ready to write a letter to the party high command demanding replacing Vijayendra,” he said in response to a question.
