Speaking at his office, he said that the programme will be jointly organised by the District and Family Welfare Department and Public Instruction Department.

The programme is expected to benefit over 2.20 lakh children in the schools. Health check-up will be done for all the students in the district who are studying in 2,078 schools from 1st standard to 10th standard, he added.

An awareness campaign regarding the programme will be held to create awareness among the parents, stated DDPI Bellashetty.

The teachers will be trained at cluster and hobli levels regarding this. District Health and Family Welfare officer Dr Rajeev, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer N Krishnappa, Dr Shyamsundar and others were also present.
