Heavy rains submerge roads in Bengaluru

Heavy rains on Saturday afternoon in Bengaluru left most roads submerged in water. Waterlogging was reported in front of BBMP Joint Commissioners' officer, Koramangala, Banashankari metro station and Mantri Mall, Malleswaram.

Banashankari metro station was in a state of chaos due to rainwater seeping into the station. BBMP Control room was flooded with calls about water logging near Mayo Hall, Koramangala, Johnson market, Chamrajpete, Chalukya signal, Cantonment railway station and HM Towers.

Tree were uprooted in Jayanagar 5th block, Girinagar, JP Nagar 2nd phase and Chamarajpet. However, no injuries were reported.

Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds over the next 24 hours, especially over BBMP area.
