Speaking at the State-level seminar on the topic ‘Participation of students in higher section sector’ organised by Shankaragowda Educational Institutions here on Thursday, he said the number of students pursuing higher education has decline of late thanks to high cost. Need of the hour was to address this problem in the interest of students.
The policy makers should attract students to higher education with new teaching methodology.
He said the higher education sector is facing shortage of quality teachers. Nearly, 50 per cent of them are guest faculty in other universities.
“The Government is finding it difficult to improve infrastructure and recruit trained teachers to colleges. Is it possible to bring changes in higher education sector without such facilities”?
Several managements have close down B Ed colleges in Bangalore unable to find quality teachers and also for sharp decline in number of students.
