The state government will provide financial assistance of Rs 3.5 lakh to leather artisans for constructing houses.
Social Welfare Minister H Anjaneya told reporters here on Saturday that hitherto the Dr Babu Jagjivan Ram Leather Industries Development Corporation was extending a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to leather artisans for constructing houses.
“Now, they will be getting an additional Rs 3.5 lakh from the Rajeev Gandhi Housing Corporation under the Ambedkar housing scheme,” he said. The minister was speaking to reporters after inaugurating Lidkar showroom here on Saturday.
