"When I decided to bring HMT back to life, they (Congress government) suspended IFS officer Gokul. Notwithstanding their opposition, HMT will be revived. Efforts are also being made to revive Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant in Bhadravathi, and the Salem Steel Plant," the Union Minister informed journalists in Bengaluru.

Dismissing suggestions that his criticism of the Congress government in the state was motivated by envy, Kumaraswamy said, "The PM has tasked me with running two departments. People across the country are talking about the programmes I have initiated. Why should I be upset?"

Kumaraswamy also dismissed reports of a rift between the BJP and JD(S). "Both the parties are committed to forging a good government in Karnataka," he said.
