Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar said on Friday that the Homa performed in Tamil Nadu's temples on Thursday was for his protection and peace of mind.
Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at a temple, Shivakumar said, "I strongly believe in the almighty. I offer puja daily and perform Homas regularly. I got this Homa done for my peace of mind and protection.”
Responding to Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s take that the Homa was to “destroy” his enemies, Shivakumar said: “I pray to God every day for good tidings and to protect me from those who wish me ill. There is nothing secretive about it.”
Taking a dig at the media, he said: “You (media) also keep giving me quite a bit of trouble and also create newer and newer news. I also prayed for protection from the media.”
