Belagavi: Public Works Department and District Incharge Minister Satish Jarkiholi said that he had asked Cooperation Minister Rajanna to seek legal advice and file a police complaint against the ploy to honeytrap him. "It appears that prominent leaders are being targeted and threatened with honeytraps and CDs. We suspect that more than 40 MLAs could have been targeted."

Jarkiholi told reporters on Saturday, "I was the first to speak about the honeytrap issue. Discussions have been held with Minister Rajanna, and he should seek legal opinion and file a police complaint. There is no need to hand over the case to the CBI, as the state police are capable of investigating and booking the accused."

"The situation has reached a point where everyone must be cautious when receiving calls from unknown numbers and respond appropriately. Experience, willpower, and awareness of past honeytrap incidents involving others can help individuals avoid falling into such traps," he said.

"I am not aware of who the conspirators are. People have been honey-trapped for political and business gains. In previous cases, it has come to light that the accused acted with political motives," Jarkiholi stated.
