'Honour killing prevalent in State too'

To address this issue, the All India Mahila Samskruthi Sanghatane (AIMSS) conducted a discussion on “Stop Honour Killing and Save Precious lives”.

Addressing students at Yavanika, Hemalatha Mahishi, a well-known advocate said, “In the name of casteism the power mongers of the Khap Panchayat are killing young people which go against any dharma or the rules of civil society.”

Education for women has given the liberty to work and to develop individuality; but this development has not received a positive sign in the rural and the urban areas, she added.
