Saraswathipuram police raided on a house and arrested three youths on the charge of cricket betting at K G Koppal here recently.
Meravegowda, aged 31 years; Krishna, 27; and S Abhijit, 23; of K G Koppal are the accused.
The police have seized Rs 5,645 in cash, four cellphones and a car from them. The police team, led by Inspector K C Poovaiah, consisting of PSI Shivanna, conducted the raid.
9 gamblers held
In another raid, Saraswathipuram police arrested nine persons on the charge of gambling and seized Rs 12,760 and six cellphones from them.
The accused were involved in the card game at a vacant plot belonging to one Harsha Urs on Bisilu Maramma Temple Road, Janata Nagar.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Manju, 28, of Nivedita Nagar; Vishwanath, 35 of Pump House, Hosa Anandur; Pramod, 27, of Gangotri HUDCO; Kumara, 28; Rakshit, 22, of Railway Quarters, Yadavagiri; Ramesh, 35, of K G Koppal; Raghunandan, 23, of Gangotri Layout; Sanketh, 25, of Vijayanagar; and Harish, 26, of Jayanagar in Mysuru.
The police have registered a complaint. Further investigation is on.
