For the first time, students of Hassan district have come out with flying colours, enabling the district to top the state with 89.33% pass in SSLC results.

Pragathi M Gowda and B Abhin, both from Vijaya School in Hassan, scored 624 out of 625, securing the second rank in the state. Out of 19,709 students, who had appeared for the exam, 17,689 students have passed, with the district achieving an overall pass percentage of 89.33.

Hassan district, which was in the seventh place last year, has pushed down Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts to attain the top slot. The district, which was in the seventh place in 2018, was in the 20th slot in 2017. The then deputy commissioner Rohini Sindhuri had held frequent meetings of headmasters and several programmes were held to increase the pass percentage.
