Kalaburagi: Jewargi Congress MLA and Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB) chairman Dr Ajay Singh on Sunday said that he’s also an aspirant for ministerial berth and that he had brought it to party high command’s notice.
“I was an aspirant for the post in 2018 too. My father Dharam Singh did not leave the party even during the trying times. He was rewarded for his patience and commitment towards the party with CM post in 2004. Like my father, I am also a loyal worker of the party. I am hopeful of getting the minister’s post this time,” he told reporters here.
“After I assumed charge of KKRDB chairman, the board has spent Rs 6,224 crore grants for the development of the region.
"The board has decided to open 200 Karnataka public schools in Kalyana Karnataka districts and a further 150 KPSs will be established by the School Education department with aid from the Asian Development Bank. The board will spend Rs 1,100 crore for the same. I am hopeful that the high command, recognising my work, will make me a minister,” Singh, a three-time MLA, said.
