Bengaluru: Following the I-T raids at the offices situated in the GolfLinks Software Park, the company has refuted the claims that it was linked to developments at BESCOM, especially with respect to installation of smart meters.
I-T department had raided multiple premises linked to Karnataka Energy Minister K J George and his aides earlier this week.
Maintaining that the I-T department only conducted a ‘tax survey', the company in a statement said that it ‘was a routine procedure carried out by the Income Tax Department under Section 133A of the Income Tax Act, 1961’.
“.. It has no connection to public officials, state government departments, BESCOM contracts, or smart meter-related matters. Any attempt to associate the aforementioned Income Tax survey with the contents of these articles is entirely baseless, factually incorrect, and legally untenable,” the statement said.
Further, the company also denied any irregularities in its operations. “.. the company operates in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Statutory filings, including Income Tax returns, have been duly and accurately submitted within the prescribed timelines, in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Act and related rules,” the statement noted.
