Raichur: Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Monday said that he would make a bid for the Chief Minister’s post only in 2028.
Interacting with journalists in Raichur, Satish said that the Congress high command will decide on the next KPCC president.
Referring to dinner hosted at his residence attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Satish said: “It’s common to host dinner. Over the past 20 months, there have been 10 such dinner parties. Why do you have to attribute motives to these gatherings?”
Responding to former CM B S Yediyurappa’s observations on the toll that the implementation of the guarantee schemes was exacting on the state’s finances, Satish said, “Yediyurappa has repeatedly been claiming that development is stalled because of our guarantee schemes, and has been urging the government to roll them back. But the Congress is in power in Karnataka, and we know how to find, and allocate finances for all the programmes.”
Accusing Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy of making a fresh allegation against the government every day, Satish said that the former never offered any evidence to substantiate his claims.
