“If it gets approved, students would be able to finish skill development programmes along with their regular BA or BSc course,” he said.

The V-C said in the silver jubilee year of the university, IGNOU aims to provide knowledge and skill to improve the quality of life of people and also wants to provide employable skills to school and college dropouts.

The Bangalore regional centre will also have a new campus, at Shingena Agrahara. The state of the art campus will cater to 20,000 students.

Lab facilities for post graduate courses like Molecular medicine, tele-learning centres, multimedia centres,  Gyanavani FM radio studio will also be set up in the new campus.
