Addressing a news conference, the minister said that even those who were appearing for exams 2 and 3 would be considered for seat allotment from the first round itself. "This provides a significant opportunity for students who are in the regular board exams to continue pursuing higher education,” he said. The results of exam 2 will be announced before the KCET results considering the interest of students.

A total of 1,69,353 students have failed to clear exam 1. According to the minister, of the failed students, 92.4 per cent have enrolled for exam 2.

That apart, students who wish to improve their score can also register for exams 2 and 3. The II PUC exam-2 will be held from April 24.

"Over 70,000 students who had already passed in the exam-1 have enrolled again for exam 2 to improve their scores. Nearly, 92.4% of students who have not cleared the exam 1 have enrolled for exam 2 and it is a very positive sign. Remedial classes are being actively conducted for those enrolled for the second exam. The attendance rate for remedial classes is around 95%," he added.
