Officials from the departments of mines and geology, revenue and police conducted a raid on the spot where sand was extracted illegally using machines from the backwaters of River Hemavathi at Kelakodli in Kodlipete hobli.
Acting on a tip-off that machines were used for sand extraction, the officials conducted a raid and seized an excavator used for sand extraction.
