Bengaluru: Congress’ SC/ST leaders, including ministers K H Muniyappa and R B Thimmapur, requested Dalit organisations on Monday to have patience and not target the government over the delay in implementing internal reservation.

“No one in the Cabinet is opposing this. We are committed to internal reservation. We want to do it in a way that doesn’t attract legal scrutiny. You have waited 30 years. It’s a matter of a few more months,” Muniyappa said.

Thimmapur said the government is working to provide empirical data to the Justice H N Nagamohan Das Commission.
