Speaking at a seminar on people-friendly administration in Bangalore on Sunday, Ranganath said the Revenue Department of the State takes almost 15 days to issue an income certificate. It is because the application has to pass from the tahsildar to village accountant. However, by the time village accountant files his report, two weeks are gone.
In Gujarat, an applicant gets the income certificate on the day of applying as the applicant gets the village accountant’s report even before filing his application to tahsildar.
Based on the village accountant’s report, tahsildar issues the certificate.
The Chief Secretary said that even the Karnataka government could follow it. State Government Association president L Byarappa demanded the government to implement the Sixth Pay Commission’s report. He a;sp urged the government to bring in a policy on the transfer of government employees.
