Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Tuesday issued a notification capping ticket prices for film shows in all cinema theatres, including multiplexes, at Rs 200.

This will apply to films of all languages and will be inclusive of entertainment tax. 

As per the notification issued by B K Bhuvanendra Kumar, Under Secretary, Home Department (Prisons and Cinemas), the following proviso has been inserted at the end of Rule 55 (6) in the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) (Amendment) Act, 2014: 

"Provided that the cost of the ticket of each show in all theatres of the state, including multiplexes for all language films, shall not exceed Rs 200, inclusive of entertainment tax." 

The department has invited objections or suggestions within 15 days.
