Janata Darshan draws a huge crowd in HassanCreate awareness on govt schemes, says Minister

The residents of Hassan district poured their woes before District in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa, during the Janata Darshan, held in Hassan, on Monday.

A large number of people had gathered at Hassan Kalakshetra where the Minister Mahadevappa met the people, perused their memoranda, and handed it over to the officials of the respective departments.

While the minister had directed for immediate action with regard to some petitions, for some others he suggested to take steps as per the law. There were also incidents of the minister taking to task the officials including special Land Acquisition Officer and Labour Officer.

He suggested that officers shouldn’t wait for complaints, but visit villages, hold meetings and create awareness about the government benefits.

The janata darshan which began at 12 noon continued till 4 pm. In all, 374 applications were received.

MLA A Manju, Y N Rudreshgowda, C N Balakrishna, H K Kumaraswamy and others were present. Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake too attended the meeting for a while.

The applications received: Revenue department - 108; Rural development and Panchayat Raj - 48; City development - 29, PWD - 22; Ambedkar Development Corporation - 16; CMC - 14; Social Welfare - 12; Devaraj Urs Development Corporation - 11 and Police department - 4.
