The accused, Chandrashekar (28), a resident of Vidyanagar in Bangalore, is an electrician by profession.
On January 9, 2011, Uma, wife of Ramakrishna and a resident of Dasarahalli in Bangalore had arrived at Dharmasthala. When she was sitting at a place in Dharmasthala as she was ill, Chandrashekar offered to take her to hospital in his bike.
However, on way, he robbed her and fled the scene. The Value of the robbed jewellery was Rs 2,10,000.
Acting on a tip off, the Belthangady police went to Bangalore and nabbed him near Jalahalli and brought him to Belthangady.
The court remanded him to 15 days judicial custody after he was produced before the court.
