A jilted lover attacked a girl with a knife for rejecting his love; and later committed suicide, at Prantya in Moodbidri, on Friday.
According to DCP (Crime) Uma Prashanth; Lohith (26), a resident of Bajal, was in love with Charishma R Karkera (22) of Moodbidri. But Charishma rejected him.
On Friday, Lohith entered Charishma's house at around 11 am, stabbed and injured her grievously.
The neighbours, on hearing the victim's cries for help, came and rushed her to the hospital. But she succumbed to the injuries.
The attacker Lohith, committed suicide by hanging. A case has been registered in Moodbidri police station.
