She was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on Juvenile Justice Board and Child Welfare Committee at the remand home in Housing Board residential area on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, she assured that any youth under the age of 18, if commits a crime will be taken into the custody and the issue will be disposed without affecting the life of the juvenile. The Juvenile Justice Board will function on every Thursday and every case will be disposed within two months of the case registration.

Child Welfare Committee President D S Mamatha informed that the juveniles who are orphans, displaced, beggars and all those who are in a bad condition will be counseled in the Child Welfare Committee and they will be rehabilitated within four months, she said.
