Raichur: Three members of a family died after allegedly eating vegetables sprayed with pesticides in Kaddoni Timmapur village of Sirawar taluk on Tuesday. The health conditions of three others of the family remain critical.

The deceased identified as Ramesh Nayak (38), his daughters - Nagamma (8) and Deepa (6). Ramesh Nayak's wife Padma (35), son Krishna (12) and daughter Chaitra (10) are critical and have been admitted to Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences.

Ramesh Nayak has grown cotton in his two acres of farm land and also vegetables for domestic consumption. He had sprayed pesticides for vegetable crops on Saturday. The family members consumed vegetables on Monday after which they complained of uneasiness.

Kavital station police sub-inspector Venkatesh Nayak and other officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
