Justice Kabbin was designated acting chairman in the absence of a full-time chairman. The State Cabinet on Thursday elevated him to the post of chairman. He holds the office for a period of three years.
Micro irrigation
Farmers across the State will now enjoy 75 per cent subsidy on micro-irrigation (drip irrigation) apparatus. Farmers in only three districts were getting 75 per cent subsidy, while those in the remaining districts were getting 60 per cent subsidy. The State Cabinet declared to extend 75 per cent subsidy facility to all the farmers. Home Minister Acharya said the State announced this to promote agriculture with less quantity of water.
