Lakshmidevi (91), wife of former Karnataka chief minister Kadidal Manjappa and a litterateur, passed away at her residence here on Friday.
A prolific writer, Lakshmidevi has 54 literary works to her credit.
She used to write under the pen name Mallika Kadidal. Her works include 11 anthologies of stories and an equal number of novels, 15 anthologies of poems, two mythological plays, children’s literature, anthologies based on Upanishads and sonnets.
She was presented the Rajyotsava award in the year 2000. Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda expressed his condolences.
