As though somebody had informed him of his death, Nagabhushan had sent text messages to his close ones just an hour before his death, bidding good bye to all of them.
“I am on my last journey, leaving all of you behind,” read the message by Nagabhushan sent at 9.45 pm, while he breath his last at 10.30 pm on Monday at Manipal Hospital.
Nagabhushan (55) was suffering from blood cancer for the last 6 years and the way he led his life and faced challenges is truly a lesson for all.
Despite completing MA, when he failed to get a government job, he started teaching little children in the village and also took up agriculture. During 1999-2004, he served as the Kalasa GP Member and served the people as a politician and as a social worker. In 2003, he was tested positive for blood cancer but his attitude and behaviour never gave a clue of his physical condition to others.
During his entire course of fight against cancer, one thing that remained constant is his courage and the enthusiasm to teach SSLC students. He is survived by his wife and son. Hundreds of students turned up at his residence to pay their tribute to a great teacher.
