Karnataka: Kamalapur zoo’s ‘Sindhu’ dies due to old age

Hosapete (Vijayanagar district): Sindhu, a female tiger aged about 17 years to 18 years, which was a major attraction at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Zoological Park at Kamalapur, died due to age-related issues on Saturday.

The big cat was aged between 17 years and 18 years. It failed to respond to treatment and died, said Rajesh Naik, the deputy conservator of forests and the executive director of the zoo.

This is the second tiger to die in the zoo due to age-related issues in two months. Devi, another female tiger, had died in June.
