Udupi: Rakesh Poojary, Kannada reality show Comedy Khiladigalu winner and actor in Kannada and Tulu movies, died after collapsing at a mehandi function at his friend’s place in Miyar in the early hours of Monday.
Though he was rushed to hospital soon after the collapse, he was declared dead. Poojary, a native of Tonse, Malpe, collapsed while conversing with friends. It is suspected that cardiac arrest caused the death.
After winning the Comedy Kiladigalu season 2 in 2018, he acted in Kannada and Tulu movies. He was part of runner up team of the reality show.
Karkala Town Police said an Unnatural Death Report (UDR) is being registered.
