Bengaluru: The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), on Tuesday, said that it is not ready to hold any talks till Kamal Haasan tenders an apology for his statement regarding Kannada.
Speaking to DH, M Narasimhalu, president, KFCC said that the actor’s letter the chamber was only a repetition of the statements he had given to the media and there was nothing new. “He has only reiterated what he said earlier. We want an apology. Only after an apology, will we hold any further talks,” he said.
However, he maintained that KFCC will adhere with the court’s order, if any. “We are not doing anything illegal. We are not boycotting his movie. It is just that he has hurt our sentiments and the theatre owners are unwilling to screen his movie,” Narasimhalu said.
Kamal Haasan, in a letter to KFCC, had said that his statements on Kannada were taken out of context and were misunderstood. He also maintained that he hoped that his words would be taken in the right spirit that he intended to.
