Belagavi: The NWKRTC bus conductor who was assaulted at Balekundri village in Belagavi taluk by a mob on Friday last has been discharged from Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital wherein he was admitted for treatment on Tuesday.

NWKRTC conductor Mahadev Hukkeri was assaulted on the CBT-Sulebhavi route in Balekundri village after he asked some commuters to talk in Kannada as he did not know Marathi.

NWKRTC City Depot-2 Depot Manager Anant Shirguppikar said Hukkeri has been discharged from hospital on Tuesday evening and sent home.

"We have asked him to take few days rest before resuming duty", he said.
