Bengaluru: BJP’s Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar on Tuesday urged the state Backward Classes Commission to provide an extension of 10 days to file objections to the list of castes and sub-castes.

Speaking to reporters, Kumar said: “They have provided  seven days to file objections. However, there are many holidays due to festivals. Therefore, we have written to the Commission chairperson to provide an extra 10 days.” The Commission headed by Madhusudan R Naik will conduct a social and educational survey (caste census) during the upcoming Dasara holidays.
