Inaugurating the newly built police housing complex in Pulakeshinagar, the Chief Minister spoke on the need for a robust law-and-order framework.

"An atmosphere of fear must be created for criminals, while common citizens should feel safe and secure. With India now being the most populous country and Karnataka’s population crossing seven crore, it is the responsibility of the government and the police department to safeguard people’s property, honour, and lives. The government is committed to equipping the police with necessary facilities and building new stations to achieve this,” he said.

Siddaramaiah also said peace and order are essential for development.

"When there is peace, the pace of development accelerates," he said, urging the police to adopt a people-friendly approach. “When citizens visit a police station, they should feel assured that justice will be served.”

The Chief Minister also took a firm stand against police collusion with the real estate mafia, stating that such behaviour would not be tolerated.

Along with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Home Minister G Parameshwara, Energy Minister KJ George, and Shivajinagar MLA Rizwan Arshad, and other dignitaries, the Chief Minister inaugurated key infrastructure projects, including the police stations at Chamarajpet, Cubbon Park, and High Grounds, the Office of the Central Division Deputy Commissioner of Police, and a 128-unit police housing complex on Lazar Road.

Parameshwara revealed that the state has sought additional funds from the central government to enhance police housing facilities. “If we receive central government funding, it will be easier to provide the necessary facilities for the police,” he said.

Parameshwara also pointed to the allocation of Rs 650 crore under the Nirbhaya scheme to bolster safety measures for women and children in Bengaluru.

The Deputy Chief Minister underscored the importance of trust in policing. “Trust is the greatest quality in a human being. The police must work to uphold the trust of the people,” Shivakumar said.

He urged police officers to remain impartial and not let political pressures tarnish their duty, uniform, or dignity. “People come to you seeking justice. May you succeed in delivering it."
