M M Hills (Chamarajanagar dist): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that he has directed the Home Ministry to be cautious about foreigners, who are overstating in their region beyond their visa permits.

He was speaking to media persons at the helipad at Malai Mahadeshwara Hills, in Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district, on Thursday.

Commenting on the terrorist attack at Pahalgam, in Kashmir, he said that it is the responsibility of the union government.

"Pahalgam attack is an inhuman act and we seriously condemn it. The Central government should have taken precautions, to prevent this. 28 people have died and this should have been prevented," he said.

The CM said that the government has decided to give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased. They will be laid, with government honours.

He said that the Mekedatu project would be started immediately after getting the Union government's approval. The Union government is yet to release Rs 5,300 crore for the Bhadra project, he said.

The CM said that the special Cabinet meeting will discuss about the development works and projects for Chamarajanagar district.
