Shivamogga: A couple was electrocuted at Kappugalale village in Sorab taluk on Thursday night.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Krishnappa (52) and his wife Vinoda (42).
It is learnt that she came in contact with a live electric wire while taking dried clothes from an iron wire near the house. Seeing his wife battling for life, Krishnappa rushed to rescue her. Both were electrocuted.
The bodies were kept in the mortuary at the taluk general hospital in Sorab.
Many electric wires had been passed through an iron cable tied by the couple to dry clothes. They are survived by two daughters and a son.
