Mangaluu: The Mangaluru South police have booked a case against a doctor over alleged anti-India post on social media.

Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal said, the police had registered a case and the doctor was called to the station for investigation. A notice has been served to her to arrive at the station whenever asked as a part of the investigation.

The commissioner said that her mobile phone has been confiscated and is sent for forensic analysis. A case has been registered under sections 353, 196 BNS.

The private hospital where she was working has already terminated her with immediate effect over a post on social media, 'which was detrimental to national interest'.

The hospital stated in a release posted on X that the staff member had been terminated from service with immediate effect on Saturday for violating the organisational policies and code of conduct.
