Speaking to reporters, after visiting the places affected due to the landslide in Sakleshpur taluk, Hassan district, on Tuesday, he alleged, “The government is still unaware about the rains. Landslides have been occurring in Sakleshpur, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts. But, the government has been negligent, in not taking any precautionary measure”.

“The government has not taken any steps to tackle the rain havoc. Instead of responding to the people’s problems, the Congress leaders have been watching cricket matches and eating masala puri”, he alleged.

Niti Aayog meet

The Congress leaders of Karnataka did not attend the Niti Aayog meeting held in Delhi, recently. But, they blame the Centre for not releasing funds. While the leaders from neighbouring states stay in Delhi and ask for what they need, our ministers are relaxing. This would directly have an impact on the people of the state. If the government had knowledge, it should have attended the Niti Aayog meeting to present its demands, Ashoka said.

Reacting to the BJP expelling MLAs S T Somashekar and Shivaram Hebbar, Ashoka said, “The behaviour of the duo was causing embarrassment to the party. So, the Central leaders have taken stern action”.
