Interacting with journalists, the LoP said: “More than minority appeasement, they have developed fear now. This government doesn’t have the power to control minorities. Thus, the state government isn’t permitting Ganesha festivals and causing major problems.”

Claiming that there had been no clashes during Ganesha festival celebrations earlier, Narayanaswamy charged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with ‘withdrawing’ cases against minorities involved in criminal cases. “The government should do things that people praise instead of misleading them. That way, things will become tough for upcoming governments. The government should come out of its wrong path and tread the path of the Constitution,” said Chalavadi.
