Speaking after inaugurating the SSLC result improvement workshop organised for high school teachers of Shivamogga, Davangere and Chitradurga districts of Bengaluru division on Saturday in the city, he said that there is a system of punishing schools that have failed to record good results in SSLC examinations. However, a system of identifying those responsible for the good results is being implemented and necessary rules will be formulated for the distribution of incentives.

He said, the work of involving the respective school development committees in the path of increasing the results of government schools needs to be done. He suggested that as a measure to improve the results, meetings of the school development and monitoring committees should be held in each school from time to time and the advice and cooperation of the committee members should be sought.

He also made it clear that government schools cannot be merged by force. He instructed the deputy director of school education & Literacy department to undertake the process only if the SDMC agrees for the same.

He also noted that education sector is facing many challenges today. There is an imperative to face them from time to time and move forward. The state government has brought many changes in the education department in a short span. He said that more constructive changes are expected in the education sector with the valuable cooperation of all the teachers.

There are talented teachers in all the government schools in the state. Not all of them came from someone's help. Instead, they got the opportunity based on their own strength, hard work and talent. He appealed to the teachers to join hands with the department to ensure good results for the district in this  SSLC examination.
