Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Monday indicated that it would hear the second bail petition filed by Prajwal Revanna on April 15, who is facing sexual harassment charges.
Justice Pradeep Singh Yerur orally said that going by the earlier orders, there appears to be cogent evidence against the petitioner.
After the trial court rejected his application seeking bail last year, Prajwal’s petitions were subsequently rejected by both the High Court and the Apex Court.
Contending changed circumstances in the second round of petition seeking bail, Prajwal Revanna stated that the charge sheet has already been filed in the case and that there is a stay order operating in favour of the co- accused.
On the other hand, the Additional State Public Prosecutor said that there is no changed circumstance in the period after the rejection of bail by the High Court and the Apex Court.
Last week, the special court for cases involving MPs/MLAs had rejected the application filed by Prajwal Revanna seeking discharge from the sexual assault case initially registered at the Holenarasipura police station in Hassan district.
He was chargesheeted for sexually assaulting his domestic help at his Gannikada guest house in Hassan district during the second lockdown period in 2021 and subsequently at his house in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. The chargesheet said the accused had also recorded the incident by holding a mobile phone in his hand.
