The Lokayukta police on Wednesday raided 15 government officials on suspicion that they have amassed illegal wealth.
The Lokayukta cops raided more than 53 places, including residences, offices and other properties of the officials. Seventeen locations belonging to three government officials in Bengaluru and rural were raided.
In Bengaluru, the raids were conducted on T V Narayanappa, Deputy Director of Factories, Ramanagar; H J Ramesh, chief engineer, Bescom, K R Circle, currently director (Technical) at Bescom, K R Circle, and S D Rangaswamy, secretary, Kittanahalli GP, Bengaluru North taluk. Police unearthed valuables like gold and cash.
Other places where raids were conducted are Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajnagar, Shivamogga, Mangaluru, Udupi, Haveri, Koppal and Tumakuru. In Mandya, Pramod Kumar N G, Executive Engineer, BBMP, South, Bommanahalli Zone, was raided.
In Mysuru, the raids were conducted on N Muttu, chief accounts officer, MUDA. J Mahesh, superintendent engineer, DC Development, Mysuru City, and A Nagesh, AEE, MUDA.
In Chamarajanagar, M Shivashankara Murthy, senior sub-registrar, Nanjanagud, was raided. In Shivamogga, Shankara Naik, junior engineer, RDPR, Shikaripura and K Prashanth, SE, Karnataka Neeravari Nigama Ltd, Upper Tunga Project Zone, were raided. In Udupi, B R Kumar, labour officer, Manipal, was raided. In Mangaluru, A M Niranjan, senior geologist, Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru, was raided.
In Haveri, Vagish, project engineer, Nirmithi Kendra, Haveri sub-division, Ranebennur, was raided. In Koppal, Jaranappa M Chincholikar, executive engineer, KRIDL, Koppal, was raided and in Tumakuru, C N Murthy, executive engineer, KIADB, Mysuru, was raided.
