Mangaluru: The Bantwal Rural Police on Sunday arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the murder of Abdul Rahiman on May 27 at Kuriyala village in Bantwal.
The police had arrested 12 persons in connection with the murder. The person arrested on Sunday is Ranjith alias Ranju from Pudu village in Bantwal.
The investigation is in progress, said the police. The police had booked a case under sections 191(1), 191(2), 191(3), 118(1) 118 (2) 109, 103 and 190 of BNS 2023.
A group of persons had attacked Abdul Rahiman and Kalandar Shafi, who were unloading sand from a pickup vehicle at Kuriyala, with lethal weapons resulting in the death of the former and serious injuries to the latter.
