Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police have launched a mobile application for combating the menace of drug smuggling and consumption. The app, named ‘Drug Free Karnataka’ can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, the department said.

Through this app, available in both Kannada and English, the public can share confidential information with the police, including the location of any suspected transportation, cultivation, storage, consumption of drugs and any clandestine lab setups.

“The location of the information shared by the public will be provided to the local police, senior officers such as DCP/SP and the in-charge officers. The officer who receives the information is allowed to conduct a raid after verifying the authenticity of the information,” the department said.

The information can be shared both in Kannada and English. The app is also equipped with features to inform the public about the laws, do's and don'ts, advisory to students and treatments for drug addiction.
